To help fulfill our Mission, DeWeather Cares has created the Severe Weather Analysis Network
(SWAN).
The purpose of SWAN is to better and more precisely forecast, cover, and analyze severe
weather events across the United States through a consortium of local and regional
independent weather sources.
Membership and participation in SWAN is free, and is open to weather sources across the
United States by invitation only.
Weather sources are best able to forecast, cover and analyze severe weather events in their
local areas and local regions. SWAN will rely on these weather sources to help residents in the
path of severe weather better plan and prepare for these events before the severe weather
events happen, cover the severe weather events as they occur, and analyze the aftermath of
severe weather events.
Additionally, SWAN members may participate in the creation of educational severe weather
content, severe weather preparedness and post-event response.
SWAN members will be permitted and encouraged to use and display the SWAN logo on their
websites, social media platforms, video content and merchandise, letting people know that they
are a SWAN member.
SWAN members, their websites, and their social media links will be listed on the SWAN area of
the DeWeather Cares website (swan.deweathercares.org).
